Part-Time A RN Emergency

SALARY: $40.24-$57.68/Hour

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the supervision of the Program Manager, the Registered Nurse is responsible for the provision of quality nursing care to a patient and their family. The provision of such nursing care is expected to be within the Standards of Nursing Practice (CNO) and the standards of the Emergency Department. The Registered Nurse is expected to maintain competence and skills through on-going participation in continuing education and will be able to demonstrate proof of such participation. The Registered Nurse actively participates in CNO Quality Assurance Program. 

 

Participates in service and hospital-wide activities and programs that model and promote a safe and healthy patient centered environment and that contribute to quality improvement and risk management initiatives.

 

Brockville General Hospital offers in house training and certification for BCLS, ACLS, PALS, NVCI and CTAS. Being a medium sized rural community hospital, you may be eligible for the student loan forgiveness program should you accept a position with BGH.

 

BGH ED utilizes a range of multidisciplinary services to support nursing staff and patient care including social work, personal support workers, medical laboratory technicians, respiratory therapy, crisis team, and our Early Intervention Outreach team (EIOT).

 

REQUIREMENTS:

Education and Experience:

  • Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Minimum of 2 years (within the last 5 years) experience nursing within an Emergency Department 
  • Current B.C.L.S., P.A.L.S. and A.C.L.S., required and maintained throughout employment period
  • CTAS Certification required and triage training completed
  • NVCI required
  • CBRN trained an asset
  • TNCC an asset
  • Post graduate Critical Care Nursing certificate an asset

 

Skills and Abilities:

  • Well-developed patient assessment skills, planning and evaluation skills
  • Excellent communication, critical thinking and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast paced environment with a high patient turnover
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a member of an interdisciplinary team, provide teaching to patients, families and other staff members
  • Good attendance and availability required
